Locating your book's ISBN

How do I find the ISBN for an OpenStax textbook?

The steps outlined in this article will show you how to locate print and digital ISBNs. The ISBNs are listed on each book's Details page on openstax.org and in the front matter of the PDF and print versions of the textbook.

Finding your book's ISBN on the OpenStax website

We will use OpenStax College Success as an example in the screenshots below.

  1. Select the category for your textbook on the Subjects page on openstax.org.

  2. Locate the book you wish to use on the Categories page and click on the textbook's cover or title.

  3. After clicking the book's cover, you will land on the book details page.

  4. Scroll down to the bottom of the book details page, just after the errata section, to see your book's ISBN details. The Digital ISBN refers to the online and PDF formats.

Finding your book's ISBN in the PDF and print formats

The ISBN can be found in the front matter of your textbook (approximately page 3 or 4). We will use OpenStax College Success as the example in the screenshot below.
