Students Paying for Access to Assignable

To help you get started with your Assignable payment, here’s a short video guide along with a step-by-step walkthrough.

Open Your Assignment

Navigate to the Assignable assignment your instructor created. At the top of the screen, you will see a message indicating when your free trial ends. The trial lasts for two weeks from the first time you access Assignable.

Please note: The first time you log in, you will be prompted to review and accept the Terms of Service.

Free Trial and Payment Options

You have two options during your trial period:

  • Wait until the trial ends. When the trial expires, you will receive a prompt to enter payment information. You will not be able to access the assignment again until you complete payment.

  • Pay early. If you prefer, you can click the link in the message at the top of the screen to pay before the trial ends.

There are two payment methods available: using an access code or paying with a credit/debit card.

Using an Access Code (If Applicable)

Need an access code? You won’t find it on the OpenStax website. If your course requires one, check your syllabus, ask your instructor, or purchase it from your campus bookstore. If you still don’t have an access code after checking these sources, skip this step and click the orange Continue to Payment button.

If you have an access code:

  1. On the payment screen, enter your access code in the Access Code field. Make sure there are no extra spaces before or after your code when entering it.

    • Click “Add Code.”
    • Then click “Continue to Payment.”
    • You will then be redirected to your assignment, the banner will no longer be shown and you can begin working on your assignment.

    OR

    Enter Payment Information

On the next screen, enter the following:

    • Name on the card

    • Billing address associated with the card. Pay careful attention when entering the address information. This information MUST match the billing information on the cardholder's statement (this is normally your house; not your dorm address). Using a different address will result in a failed payment. If the zip code entered here doesn't match, the transaction will not process. This is a security measure that helps to keep people from using your card if it is stolen.

    • Credit or debit card information. Please double-check your card details before submitting. Make sure the card number, expiration date, and CVV exactly match what appears on your card. If any of these details are incorrect, the payment will not go through, and you’ll be prompted to try again.

Tip: Be sure there are no extra spaces before or after your payment details when entering them. This includes your name, address, and card number.

    Confirmation and Access

Once your payment is successfully processed, you will be redirected to your assignment. The banner will disappear, and you can begin working right away.
