How do I integrate OpenStax Assignable with Blackboard Ultra?
OpenStax Assignable Checklist
- Coordinate with administrators who have developer or admin access to LMS settings.
- Ensure compatibility with LTI 1.3.
- Note that beta, sandbox, or test environments are not supported.
- Assignable only needs to be integrated once. Please double-check that the tool isn't already available in your LMS.
- Complete all steps outlined in this help article.
In Assignable

Copy the Client ID from the Assignable LMS Integration screen at https://lti-gateway.openstax.org/register.
In Blackboard

In the Administrator Panel, click LTI Tool Providers.

Click Register LTI 1.3/Advantage Tool.

Paste the Client ID and click Submit.

On the next screen, approve the tool, then copy the Deployment ID. You will need this in a later step.

Also enable sending at least the user's Role in Course and Allow grade service access. For a better experience, also enable sending the user's Name. Submit the Blackboard tool creation form.

Confirm that the tool status is set to Approved.

Back in Assignable, paste the Deployment ID and click Save & Continue.

On the next screen, fill in your contact information and institution name, then submit the tool registration.
Adding Assignable to a Course

Instructors can now add the tool to their course. Navigate to Content, click the add content button (+), then select Content Market.

Select Institution Tools, then choose OpenStax Assignable.
