Locating the OpenStax textbooks

The steps outlined in this article will show you how to locate the free online and PDF formats of any OpenStax textbook. Print versions of most OpenStax textbooks are available from our print partners on the Kendall Hunt website at a low cost.

To access your book:

1.  Select the category for your textbook on the Subjects page on openstax.org. We will use OpenStax College Success as an example in the screenshots below.

2. Locate the book you wish to use on the Categories page and click on the textbook's cover or title.

  
3. Click on your preferred format on the left under the "Get the book" heading. All available formats of the textbook will be found on the book's details page. If you are looking for additional formats, please let us know at info@openstax.org. 
 

Instructors

You can direct students to their book's Details page in your syllabus and let them know that the online and PDF formats are free.
