Does OpenStax Assignable integrate with my LMS?
OpenStax Assignable integrates with the most popular LMSs used by colleges and universities. OpenStax Assignable integrates with Blackboard Learn, Blackboard Ultra, Canvas, D2L/Brightspace, Moodle versions 3.10 or later, Schoology, and select other LMSs (as long as they support LTI 1.3 tools).
To integrate OpenStax Assignable with your LMS, please visit the Assignable Integration Page or contact your institution’s LTI administrator. Please note that we currently cannot support beta/sandbox/test environments. While the tool may appear to integrate successfully, it will not provide full functionality and may result in errors. For the best experience and reliable performance, always use a supported production environment.
How do I manually register OpenStax Assignable with an LMS for which OpenStax doesn’t provide support?
OpenStax Assignable can be manually registered with any Learning Management System (LMS) that supports LTI tools (LTI 1.3). However, OpenStax can only provide guidance for integration with support for Blackboard Learn, Blackboard Ultra, Canvas, D2L by Brightspace, Moodle version 3.10 or later, and Schoology. Registration can still be completed manually for LMSs outside of this list, but OpenStax cannot provide support.
To ensure a successful integration, follow the OpenStax Assignable checklist below:
- Coordinate with administrators who have developer or admin access to LMS settings.
- Ensure compatibility with LTI 1.3.
- Note that beta, sandbox, or test environments are not supported. While the tool may appear to integrate successfully, it will not provide full functionality and may result in errors. For the best experience and reliable performance, always use a supported production environment.
- Remember that Assignable only needs to be integrated once.
- Complete all fields on the “Other” registration page.
I don’t have access to a Learning Management System. Can I still use OpenStax Assignable in my course?
No. OpenStax Assignable is only accessible through LMSs that support LTI 1.3 tools, like Blackboard Learn, Blackboard Ultra, Canvas, D2L by Brightspace, Moodle version 3.10 or later, and Schoology.
